Racing the King Tide : 360VR Film

Posted on Jul 3, 2018 in Research, Research & Education

A 360VR Film that shows what life is like on the islands of Tubigon, Bohol, Philippines that become flooded even during normal high tides. Coming face-to-face with a hundred year’s worth of sea level rise as a result of earthquake-induced land subsidence in 2013, these communities show a glimpse of the real impacts of climate change on small low-lying islands around the world. At the same time, the film shows how life goes on in these communities despite all the challenges they face.

Three 360VR films are currently in production, and will be released soon as part of a larger interactive documentary about islands adapting to a changing climate.
