‘Renmen’ is the Haitian word for Love, the bird in the logo is the Hispaniolan Trogon, the national bird of Haiti. ‘The Renmen Project’ has been brought together by the team at Thunder Chunky and Ben The Illustrator in order to raise funds for UNICEF’s Haiti Appeal.
Throughout 2010 we will be working with a selection of top artists and designers from around the world to create artwork which we will be selling online. Every penny made from art sales will be going to Unicef’s appeal fund.

Colin – £45 film gets wide release
Just finishing a short film with The Hatch called Vacuum – the closing motion graphics credits are up on this site. Started to turn attention to writing a feature that could be filmed for very little money. The zombie film Colin has been grabbing the headlines lately and I hope it does well but the notion that it cost £45 is clever marketing ploy rather than the truth. Check out the trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkJZ3FlOWeM. It took them 18 months to make and it looks pretty good (it’s taken us a year to make Vacuum which is 10 minutes long so hats off to them!). Puts it in the same canon as Blair Witch and Open Water as ultra low budget horror with a USP that works but £45 is misleading. Still, looking at the skills on display on this site if the right idea came along and you all worked for a quid each it would be possible to make something truly class for very little money, albeit utilising people’s valuable time and skills, which the Colin filmmakers don’t seem to factored into their budget!!!
